Cool.. I've always wanted a Renault 18 Turbo or GTX with those funky wheels with the 2 parallel bars in the middle:

Always used to see one in Reading 3-4 years ago sitting there never apparently used. if only I had money at the time.

Heh. Nice cars, them. Haven't seen one for years, though.

Also reminded me.... Renault 12 Gordini.... nice :-)

Yep, and neither of them are even vaguely Italian, Swedish or Czech, yet stranmgely we both agree.

A chassis and suspension setup similiar to that of a 2CV, coupled with an engine twice the size... never have I been able to scare so many, with so few CCs (1), since. ;-)

(1) Discounting the bikes I've had, of course.

I've had a similar twisted fantasy as a wee lad (well, 3 years ago or so), but mine was a 21 Turbo, in black, lowered with 17" magnesium 5 spokes. Could have had it for £700 too. Damn that fecking insurance company!

I wouldn't mind a 21T at all, they can be got for peanuts over there too

I've a funny feeling mines gonna end up bein black :)

I forgot to mention the price of mine. I offered him 10 euro, he refused so we settled on 0, i was happy with that

Renault 18 Turbo? I had one of those things. Actually not too bad to drive, but the Turbo blew it's last. Dead comfy though, and all the toys (for the time), electric windows, Sunroof, Cruise, Central locking, Power Steering. BTJ831X. Green one.

Had a Fuego GTX shortly after, until the webasto sunroof came open on the East Lancs Road on the way back from Haydock Auctions.. bastard thing lifted up, jumped off its rails, swung back, and went clean through the tailgate.

and for my final bout of sick twisted Renault history, I put a R5 Gordini motor into a Renault 4. 105 bhp through 135 tyres. Understeered like an Allegro on a skateboard if you tried to accelerate though a corner.

things you do when you're 18 and bored...
