That is the way it used to be. A Saab was a thinking man's BMW. But GM have failed to maintain that.

Doctors, Lawyer, teachers, pilots, people who required precission and standards along with performance and longevity would buy Saab Turbos.

Now it's all bloody reps in their 1.9Tids

That is the Biopower, not the Ecopower. Ecopower is just an LPT, Biopower is E85, unleaded, or if you get it fitted, LPG.

You can mix any percentage of E85, unleaded and superunleaded in the aero models and the ecu recalculates.

Really? I though it was the twits who believed the crap about fighter jets.

Best excuse for a Hirsch upgrade is you get black and god Saab roundels, and only Saab people know what that means.

Fuck. Which category do I fall into? I'm very scared now.

Nah, long before the Jets. They didn't really do the jet thing until the later C900, and the 9000. But they have been making 99 turbos since about 1974 I think.

At the time of the 900 with it driving over the cliff and disapearing as a jet there still was a link with Saab aero engineering and Saab cars.

Still, we can hope that Porsche will buy Saab to re-unite it with Scania and the griffin badges on the older cars can make sense again.

'77 - last year was the 30th anniversary.

And the Saab dealer can do it, which means "it was just an expensive service, darling" heh.

Sorry, I thought it was arround before that, I thought the 900 came out in 79, can't believe it was only out 2 years before the 900.

A devastatingly effective minor exaggeration, I must admit.

Saab dealers now fit Gods?

Dearie me, I bet Sven Harris from Sales would love that.

"I don't care about your steenkingly cup holders, my car, eet has a God, feeted by the dealer. Only Saabs can be feeted weeth a God. Eets Devastatingly awesome"

But they do work ok - my mates dads Beemer we often borrow has it, and on a long drive we spent a while fiddling with it to see how good it was - and I could stick an arm out of my 'hot' side and feel how cool his 'cold' side was hehe.

To be fair, the Saab 'Ecopower' thing is more about emissions than economy.

Hmmm, you've pointed out that you think the Vectra VXR is 'better' than the 9-5 HOT, however, several reviews disagree.

Most criticism is centered around poor ride and handling and shit interior......

At least with the 9-5 you get decent ride quality, handling is still shit, but the interior, despite being a tad dated, is well built.

It better be good, their 315bhp kit is £1900!!!! The remap and exhaust on the Veccy, is about a grand. 345bhp you want? That'll £5,250 please sir...

For £2k I can have the FMIC as well... And some other tweaks.

Their kit to get it to the same standard power as the Vectra is £1,100.

But seen as Steve is certainly not gonna be spending a couple of grand ramping up the power and invalidating his Saab warranty, unless he pays ever more to go for Hirsch maps. It was just an idle thought of mine regarding tuning the Vectra heh :-)
