(Slightly less than on topic) Consoles

Goodo. I've reached the conclusion that I should get the software I want, then get "hardware" to run it on.

I want to continue with the Gran Turismo series.

That means PlayStation time.

Sorry Xbox. Besides, when Project Gotham Racing was supposed to be the best driving game out, ever, I preferred the look and feel of GT2...

That's worth knowing; it's easier to justify a PS2 if it can play Charlie's funky American DVDs.

Ever played Metropolis Street Racer on the Dreamcast? That had awesome feel to it, also, real locations in city were great.

I always thought it was a pity about the name of Dreamcast. Just not very 18-30 is it?

ISTR Dreamcasts were pink or purple or something as well.

I feel a new new year TV program coming on - Top 100 Marketing faux pas of the 20th century...

I don't remember that, I think they were a dull grey. Not that I had one, I was going through a miss guided faze thinking that with a PC I didn't need consoles.

white actually but there were a load of clear cases you could get and one was clear pink and yes i had one! still got it too! it's to damn good to sell! sega tried to move things forward to early but the ideas were there! it's all the numptys buy s*it playstations that ruined it! :)

they had a proper VGA output and ran a modded version of windows CE as the base OS system, you couldn't boot up a desk top or nothing though like my mate thought back then haha

How weird I had a race for the first time today at a set of lights with a brand new 325I BMW and kept up with him right up to 100mph, we then had to slow down as another set of lights were approaching, I noticed him looking at the back of my car when I passed him at the next roundabout as he turned off, I now have a S4 grille so maybe he thought my car was somthing better than it is :)

Whats the BHP of a 325I Coupé ?

But as Depression points out, both pale in comparison to a keyboard and mouse...

Stop this madness !

The XBOX is the machine with the title shortage !

The PS2/Cube/PC have first-class games busting from their seams !

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Go play Far Cry and Doom III and Halflife 2 on a decent PC.

Your XBox is not PC-like :)

Get a better job :)

It's hardly traumatic to spend less than 5 minutes every few MONTHS, downloading and installing the latest drivers from nvidia.com

190-ish, but that one was almost certainly an Auto.

The manual can crack 60mph in 7 seconds, and go on to 150mph, and doesn't have the extra transmission loss of your 4x4. Had it been a manual, it would have kicked your ass :)

Of course.

Current chips allow you to boot any-region DVDs, any-region PS1 games (copies or originals), and any-region PS2 games (copies or originals).

Having said that, the DVD player's a pile of s*it compared to a decent standalone. Go and order yourself a

if you're a tight arse :) to play your R1 discs - they're EXCELLENT machines.

192 from memory, maybe a little more now. Quite heavy though, and needs to be driven hard to get the performance out of them.

Big up for the Cube - got one for my 10 yr old this Christmas - such a nice piece of engineering.

XBox is the only computing platform where Linux makes sense - stick a big hard drive in, hook it on your network and use it as a DVD library / occasional games machine / comms centre etc.

Or a Radeon 9600 for 50 quid. HL2 is the best.

I found it a bit dull to be fair, preffered Doom 3 :)

I think it's 192bhp, similar (but updated) engine to the old M50 24v.

I thought he was going to waste me, and he even got a better start then me, I don't normally drive fast but you have too sometimes :)

I think he was surprised that I kept up with him, and remember mines unchipped, if it was chipped to over 200bhp I think I would have taken him, don't know if it was man or auto I know I was going up to 7k revs lol

Stop messing about and get it to RICA.

The S4 was always my top car in GT2 unfortunately it doesn't drift anywhere as well in GT3. 90% of the time I was looking at a wall and going sideways round the track when driving one, that said in Concept the RS4 & 6 could defiantly go sideways nicely as well.
