Best thing to do before buying a car like that is have a look around the car cruise sites. See if there are any pictures or videos of it being thrashed about. I wouldn't touch something with 155,000 miles unless all receipts were present. Stripping an engine down doesn't just mean replacing spark plugs or cambelt. The gearbox will also be on it's way out by now.

How little you know about Toyota Engines. This isn't a performance engine, just crusing sports car.

If it has had the required fluid changes (some Toyota boxes don't need fluid changes according to Toyota, just level checks and topups), it will be fine. Test driving it will tell you whether the shift is shafted.

High mileage does not mean a bad car. If someone has spent that much money on modifications, chances are they have also maintained it.

he's got it wrong it's a MR2 GTi not GT as the GT and GT-S were imports, he's also got a turbo engine lid hmm, 2 ugly TOMS air scoops which actually disrupt the air flow (designed to draw air from underneath the car where it's coldest.) the paint job is cack! the spoiler/ironing board is also damn awful!

sad thing is once again it's selling! someone said he was a member of the MR2OC i think and the guy was on the forum everyday asking if anyone has spotting him.
