Don't care - I'll *bet* it will fall apart like all other present day Rovers. And for what it costs new, you'd get a very decent secondhand car. Of course, it will drop like a stone in value, so *might* make a half decent secondhand buy for a kid.

I think it's more to do with Customs and Inland Revenue not wanting to be on the end of a 'pikey's revenge', IYSWIM.

yeah but it has a warranty, which a better 2nd hand car won't, and you can bet all u like, u will have to wait and see if it falls to pieces.

Heh - I like my kids. Polo is the sensible first car - unaspirational, slow, safe, reliable, cheap to run.

You can get even a Polo sideways. If your kid's going to drive fast, he'll drive fast whatever you give him to drive fast in IMO.

Hell, i got the use of a Triumph Acclaim as my first car ;)

Sideways wasn't so much something you had to try and get.

I'd prefer... Hmm. A Perodua Kenari? I don't dislike the Panda that much, but it doesn't do anything for me on any level; the old Panda had the whole basic utility thing.

I had a good look at the Abarth one when it looked like I was getting a company car last year. Much as I like them, an Alfa 147 is a better buy for similar money - even if it's down on power.

And I bet no miles on the clock past delivery, as they only reconnect them when they sell them, 3 years after buying them.

Sell them when they just need an MOT, with as few miles as possible, even though the big mercs and 4x4's have been towing huge caravans for the last 3 years, and get better than book.
