Went to Santa Pod today. Excellent day out, lots of cool stuff going on and plenty of awesome cars.
One of the jet cars went a bit wrong towards then end though - as soon as it left the start line the parachute deployed, then a few seconds later it blew up and just coasted down the strip in flames. Fecking scary, mainly because you know there's someone trapped inside, but also because there's a jet engined car, containing jet engine fuel on fire about 20m in front of you!! The guy on the PA didn't help when, after a short silence, he said he was expecting the engine to blow up and throw sharp bits of metal everywhere!! He then went silent for a few minutes until he finally told everyone the driver was ok. TBH I thought the driver was screwed. Shows you how damn good the fire retardent clothing is that they wear!
