Drove past the local ford dealer, spotted a sivler 05 V6 on the lot. Lady salesperson came out started talking to me. She spotted my dad Ford 300/500 Grand Master sales ring on my finger, asked me about it. She said guess I'm not going to sell you one today. We continued chatting, I told her that when I get an 05, it will be my
5th mustang. She asked me if I wanted to drive it, I told her no, I was working......she asked again and I said ok, why not. Other than it being an automatic, if you haven't heard one from the inside you are in for a suprise! The V6 engine sounds MUCH better. This one was outfitted with the shaker500 sound system....the top of the line is the one that adds the subs in the trunk, but this one sounded REALLY good. Also plays MP3's. The tilt stearing is more like the one on the late model probes, where you flip a lever under the stearing wheel, and it raises/lowers the entire column, not just the wheel. Other things I noticed. They have a really nice feature where lets say you pull into a parking lot, your driveway etc....and your favorite song is on the radio.......turn off the engine and remove the key, and the stereo keeps playing until you open any of the doors. The windows will go up/down also. She told me there was one other thing the windows do. When exiting the vehicle, the windows go down about 1/4 inch, then after you close the door, they go back up, which, is suppose to seal the windows better. As to more leg room, YES! there is ample leg room (my legs are 32"). Also, if you raise the seat all the way, my head didn't bang into the roof (I'm
5'10"). I measured a good 2" still to go. The door handles on the inside are a contrasting color to the door panels, which will make it easier for people in the passenger seat to find the handle at night (a problem my friends have). They moved the map lights to make them much easier to find. Instead of being on the roof, between the front and rear seats, they moved them to the roof above the rear view mirrors. Speaking of mirrors, the side view mirrors have a BIGGER mirror. You can see a lot more from them now! Seats seem to fit a lot better, and seem to be a bit stronger. This car had the leather package, plus the side impact air bags. This car had every option except for the sub woofer. It was priced at just a little over
23,000.00 The sales person also said a few corvette owners had stopped by to see it.....not that they were going to buy one, but they were impressed with the "retro" look.
Anyway, thought I'd give a "mini review" of the new stang. It sure is sweet. Can't wait to trade my 99 in next summer on a new 05!!
