I have a question regarding my horns on my '66 coupe. When both of my horns are connected they both sound 'weak'. By 'weak' I mean that they do not seem to give full blow. But if I disconnect one horn the one that stays connected blows perfectly. This 'single blow' works for both horns. What would cause both horns to sound weak when they are both connected but have a single connected horn sound fine?
The wire splice near the horns may be corroded or the relay contacts may be burned.... or there may be a corrosion problem "upstream".
SOunds like they are not getting enough amps through the circuit to get the job done. Coul be anywhere along the line. Either re-wire the circuit, or run a relay circuit.
horns work on 12 volts.. are they getting 12 volts at the supply???? how much amps are each horn pullings??? this would make just one sound OK it the voltage is low to both or one or both are pulling too much amps???? take both horns off and then rig up some wires so you can go directly to the battery with them... how do they EACH sound???? OK, then put them both on at the same time... do they sound weak or OK.... if OK then the horns are not the problem its the wiring from the horn back to the switch or someplace else... any resistence in the wiring might make the horns sound sick.... hope this helps....
