I have a 65 Vert and found a 50 year old machine shop closed and full of heads but they have no way of identification. Can anyone tell me where I can find head numbers for a 65 Mustang 289? And if you are looking just let me know what numbers you are looking for and I will go thru the place one day! Jerry
A standard '65 head will have a C5DE-6090-B casting number. A '65
289HP will be C5OE-A or C5AE-E. (Most Ford heads will include the 6090 designation).If you are in position to buy heads from this place at a good price, I highly suggest starting with the various Ford casting numbers and running them through this group to ID them. There are far too many to list here, but you might make some good scores. Same goes for the other brands.
