Rare and 5.0 shouldn't be allowed in the same sentence. How many of these blocks have been made since the 1968 model year?

You find another original '86 5.0 notch w/only 23k miles. It might not be as rare as your HCS, but I'd still call it rare.

It's something I don't see everyday either.

whoa whoa, I wasn't trying to start anything. The mileage is rare, yes, I totally agree, but the motor isn't. That was my only point.

hey Scott FYI only a total of 2825 5.0 coupes were made in 86 . most of them were Florida and California HWY Patrol cars , very few were sold to the public . So it is rare . Also I know the whereabouts of more 66 HCS then 86 5.0 coupes ! And is my unrestored 11,000 mile fastback rare ?

Jeff

How much are you asking for your coupe ??? Any pics ???

Thanks

Nick1 :)

Lot's of 302 blocks around, thats for sure but It's the total package that's rare.

Steve,

Hey now... we can't have a big-block Buick motor in an '86 Mustang. ;-)

You're right, it'd tear out the torque boxes in a heartbeat. The 5.0 notchback is still what I consider my favorite daily driver. Now that we're in a house, the chances are I'll probably try to keep a truck around now though.

Steve BBB on a stand.
