doors swap??

I know that most parts interchange between the 88' 5.0 GT and '90 LX 2.3L, but will the doors if the '88 is a hatch and the '90 is a coupe??

Thanks!!

I had a situation where my passenger door had to be replaced. My car is a 90 GT. What I expected to be a simple job turned into a month-long experience, and here's what I picked up along the way. Apparently doors from any 87 through 93 will interchange, whether it be hatch or coupe, 5.0 or 2.3. The only ones that won't be compatable are doors from a convertible or t-top version. I was told by the body shop (Ford operated) that there can be subtle differences in the way interior panels are placed from one year to the next, but don't recall seeing any visible differences in any of the Fox-generation Mustangs I've ever been in.

Please let me add one more thing, based on my experience. Part of what took so long getting my car fixed was locating a door in good condition. It was amazing how many were found that ended up being rusted (near the bottom edge) or bondo-ed. Many of these were represented as "good" to "excellent" condition, until specifics were requested by my agent. So, if you have a lock on some, and you know they are good, consider yourself fortunate. Parts for the Foxes are getting hard to come by in good or excellent shape.

Hope this helped.
