"More on Boss 5.0-Liter Engine Already Testing at Daytona"
A couple of disappointments in reading the article.
Bore spacing is the same as the modular 4.6 and 5.4, which doesn't allow any larger piston diameters. So to get 5 litres they once again use a (nearly) square b/s ratio. Piston is actually smaller than the "cammer" engine.
There's just a bit of room for more displacement through the usual stroker and/or slight bore increase but nowhere near what I was hoping they might design for.
Some other dimensions are the same as the 4.6 also such as crank bearings. So even though all the castings are new designs, they pretty much fit the 4.6 template.
