So is it that the people using Google's group portal do not read or understand the rules, or is it that they just feel like the rules do not apply to them? Google's TOS distinctly forbids spam ads and the charter for this group does as well. Usenet is not here for free advertising services.
My guess is the third possibility. They don't care about the rules.
