OT: Interesting read from GM...

"FWD Cavalier, Sunfire mark change in direction for drag racing With a remarkable 600 to700 horsepower (depending on the class in which the car is competing) from only four cylinders, the Cavalier and Sunfire will be some of the fastest accelerating vehicles ever built that feed all their power to the track through the front wheels. In a sport that has been dominated from its outset by rear-wheel drive in general, and by GM's Chevrolet and Pontiac rear-wheel drive cars in particular, the Cavalier and Sunfire mark a major change in direction."

So GM plans to continue dominating the sport of drag racing with FWD

4-bangers? Any comments?

How is GM gonna do that being that THIS is the LAST year for the Cavalier Model line ??

I imagine their "change in direction" in going to be continued with the Cavalier's replacement or the Saturn ION. GM's focus seems to revolve around the Ecotec engine vs. any particular car.

The Cobalt isn't too shabby looking IMO (browse down for pics)...

Advertising copy, nothing more. Physics will prevent FWD from dominating in drag racing. It's hard to get the power to the road when the acceleration will act to reduce traction.
