I need to replace the dust boot on the PS cylinder on my '66. I've found the torque for the cylinder-to-bracket (24-30 ft-lb), but I can't find the torque for the cylinder-to-drag link nut. Does anybody know what that is?

My '67 manual doesn't have it either(?) I'd say tight! I've just done mine by a quick rap with an impact to seat it then just with a wrench till I felt it was tight. It is similar to a tie rod end which are 30 ft/lbs if that is any help. StuK
The proper Ford part actually pushes the shaft more like a steering wheel puller or gear puller. IIRC I left the nut on loose and cracked it with a hammer but that process would be up to you! If the fluid is out of the ram and one hose is left off or loose the ram will move freely but be prepared for oil to go flying around if any is still around. You don't need to remove it from the centre link if you are just doing a boot. Leave it on the car remove the bushing nut and turn the wheel with the engine off, the ram should fall out the bracket. Install the boot and clip and reinstall the ram and new bushing etc. StuK
