I have a 68 mustang with a auto tranny and i would like to put in a manuel. How hard is it to do?

Hard is a relative term. You'll have to be the judge.
You need the trans, mount, shifter, bellhousing, flywheel and clutch assembly. You need the pedals and the Z bar, springs, pushrods and pivots.
You need to remove old parts bolt in the new. If the trans is from the proper application then the drive shaft should be the same. The neutral safety switch from the auto needs to be defeated and the reverse light switch needs to be wired in. If you have a console you'll need to remove the auto shifter guts and add a shift boot and the top plate from a manual trans console.
You could do a modern T5 swap too. It is outlined in a few Mustang websites. HTH StuK
