WTB:66 Mustang Coupe Shell

Allright..I cant take it anymore!

I'm giving up on turnign my 89 vert into a 11 second car.. no matter how I run the figures, its just too damn heavy. Plus if I leave it stock, I hear in a few years it will appreciate by $1,500 per year. :)

So now I'm looking for a 66-68 coupe shell and frame that I can put in my own motor and drivetrain. This will be primarily for the track, not the street.

I cant do body work so this has to be in pretty good shape ( I will repaint when I am all done so paint doesnt matter but rust does ( I HATE RUST!!).

2 questions for you classic body collectors/owners:

How much should I expect to pay for this? Suggestions on where to find one ( Bill S?)

Thanks all

How about a 70? A friend of mine is selling his second race car. If I remember right, only thing you would need is the motor and tranny. Everything else is there. It is setup for C6 auto, and has a Cheetah shifter there. I think he's letting the slicks go with it to. If I wasn't in the middle of building mine, I would have bought it. If you want more info on his car, send an email to snipped-for-privacy@pa.net The last time I talked to him, he said that he wanted 4 grand for it. BTW, he's in Central PA. I think I have some photos of it, if you want to see it. Just send me an email direct and I'll send them to you.
