Recently had a few touch ups done on my '83 280ZX ( non turbo ), and when i picked the car up...it ( for the first time ever ) spluttered a bit ...and ran a little lumpy ...though i think it's smotthed out..after a back fire !

What the hell could that be ??? like...dust int the engine or something...injectors ???? I th had only been in the panel shop for about 3 days..!

Cheers,

yep...your probably right...though original milage is only 67,000kms....and it's running fine again now anyway.....beats me..

It was short cycled. Cranked, moved, shut off, cranked, moved, shut off. After a few of these cycles the plugs get sooted up and can run weird until the car is run some.

aha...like if they were just moving the car around the workshop for instance..? That would make sense..

Exactly. Body shops are the worst as they have to move the car to different areas for bodywork/prep/paint/cleanup etc. I've seen then get so loaded up they refuse to start and have to have the plugs changed/cleaned when there is nothing wrong with the car.
