2001 Pathfinder Starting Problem

Dec 14, 2003 1 Replies

I live in NY and today was a day of snow and sleet. I parked my car after using it all day and then went out to start the car again. The car wouldn't start. I waited fifteen minutes, several times and the car still wouldn't start. I was ready to start checking fuses, the gas line, etc. I tried once more and it still wouldn't start this time I decided to put the car in neutral and then the car started. Is it possible the neutral safety switch is going? Will the truck eventually not start in neutral too? Also, once the car started I tried it several more times and it started in park as usual. Any help would be appreciated.

Naybe. I wouldn't expect weather related glitches on any less than 30 year old parts, but it may not repeat. If it does repeat, replace it. Don't know about today, they used to be cheap parts, easy to grt to. Will the truck eventually not start in neutral too? Yep
