2004 Frontier vibration

4 cyl 2WD automatic 6K miles. Between 45-55 MPH there is a vibration. Service department replaced 3 tires that were out of round. 4th tire and new tires tested to be round. Still have problem. I drive highway miles, never hit a curb or pothole, never had any weight in back of truck. Service department is calling whoever it is they call for tech support and will call me back when they find anything out.

Anybody have any ideas? Thanks Dave

I could be that the driveshaft is not balanced.

It can also be the upper ball joints have too much play. Jack up the front tires. Try to shake them from side to side, and see if there is any play. Also check the idle arm and tie rods. It has to be something...

I was thinking the same,except the problem just started recently.( Which I forgot to mention earlier.) Can the drive shaft go out of balance by itself? Any chance of it being wheel bearings? Thanks Dave

just a little hint for you Jim

Moving the front wheels side to side is not the correct method for checking upper and or lower ball joint problems

a in and out motion at the 12 and 6 o-clock position of the tire is the way to check ball joints.
