Faulty Temperature Sensor in Gas Tank/Emmissions Test

Jun 02, 2004 2 Replies

Hi

Does anyone know if a bad temperature sensor will cause a failed emissions test? My check engine light is on and the code is 43 for a 1995 Nissan 4 cylinder XE pick-up truck. Error code 43 corresponds to a faulty temperature sensor in the gas tank.

Thanks

Jeff

Any failure that turns on the MIL (check) light is an automatic failure in most states.

Yep OBDII EMI is done by checking for codes. If the light is on, it isn't going to pass.
