Has anyone tried / Would it be possiable to put a VG35 engine into a 96 pathfinder (VG33)?
The 99.5 and above engines seem to be quite better.If I fould one in a wrecked pathfinder how much would it cost someone to put it in an older pathfinder if posiable?
the 3.5L engines are VQ35's
Anything can be done if you have enough $$$
To be honest with you, it is not a cost effective swap.
here is the short list.
engine Transmission , the tranny in your pathpuppie won't bolt up to the 3.5 ECM and harness A/T control unit and harness Drive Shaft And a lot of sweat
The VG35 didn't become available until 2001.
I've had three Pathfinders, one VG30 ('87), one VG3??? ('95), and a VQ35. The VQ35 is significantly better at two things: Pulling a trailer uphill, and surpising the s*it out of BMWs and V8 Explorers. I wouldn't bother. Run it till it dies, then get a new(er) PF.
Go for it if you have the time inclination. Have a look at what a friend of mine is doing.
