2005 3.5 SE Headlight Replacement

i bought a new 05 3.5 SE and want to change OEM headlights with some aftermarket bulbs with a little more blue/super white color in them and tried to remove the whole headlight casing the other day and was unable to do so. checked manual and suggests taking car into dealer for that kind of chane but manual shows how to remove fog light casing and rear light casing but not headlight. i removed 2 screws from each side that seamed logical but no luck. ANY HELP???

I had to pay a mechanic $20 to change them. He had to take a bunch of parts off before reaching the headlights.

well i looked online, actually on ebay, and saw someone selling the whole casing for a 2004 altima and saw some pictures of the thing, there are two hidden screws at the bottom of the casing which are impossible to reach with just the hood open, my guess is that this is more then a half hour job each light. someone told me i might have to take off the freakin bumper. but if i can find a mechanic to pay $20, that aint bad compared to nissan dealer charging me $120, i called it in the other day. $120!!!!

i have a 2002 altima i believe they are the same,. its not too hard. on the driver side you take out the scoop that connects to the air filter box. on the passenger side you take out the windshield washer bottle and then you will see a big round piece with 2 wires going in to it. rotate it counter cl;ockwise and it will come out and you will see the bulbs for the low beam......high beam is easier....... be warned the aftermarket bulbs dont seem to last to long try the hyper white or platinum white not the blue ones they last longer.........

nismo477 is right. Thats the method I used. I installed the Sylvania SilverStars and I'm 100 per cent satisfied.
