1995 nissan maxima charging problems ?

Hello, about 2 months ago I was driving down the road & noticed the Drivers side window was moving VERY slowly. I thought the battery was going dead. I paid no more attetion to it. Later that month, as I was driving, the abs light came on , then the battery light, when I pushed the brakes, the speedometer went form 40mph down to "0" as I was driving. Basically, I figured the battery was going dead ? and or the alternator died & I was running on battery only power. The car sat in the drive for a month , DEAD , no power. I purchased a NEW alternator, & put it in. Well the battery was so dead, it would not re-charge, so I bought 1 of those too. Now, today I went to the post office, 4 miles away, & I rolled the window down,, & well it was moving at turlte speed. I put on the windsheild wipers & they were going slow too. I had to ship some stuff & had to get tags. So I shut off the car, went in to the post office, inside 15 minutes. Then jumped in the car, started fine, went to the tags office, another 4 miles or so. Checked the window & such , still moving slow. Got to the tags office, shut her down. Came out & she was dead. Would not start. BUT the radio & door light etc. were on. Figured the Battery was not completly dead. I got a jump from this guy, & booked it home. As I was hitting my brakes along the way, the same things were happening. Speedo freakinn out, abs light coming on & off,. I pulled in my driveway & it died. Now, for the strange part. I checked the belt, it is tight, then grabbed my volt meter & checked the battery....it read 11.99-12.04 ???? Can anyone help ? The car will not start right now, it is acting like it's dead ? my reply email is " snipped-for-privacy@sbcglobal.net" thanks Ronnie

Sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere. Check the thick wires leaving the battery and follow them to where they end.

I, also, have a 95' that seems to be having the same problems. I went ahead and replaced the alternator and belt hoping that would fix the problem (not an easy job BTW), but some of the idiot lights are still on (although much dimmer). I'm also having problems with runs rough idleing. The DTC indicates a bad knock sensor (code 34). Might try looking into that next. If you find out what to do, let me know too.
