Walmart has a $99 one that will read most codes.

Or go to the local autozone and they'll use their reader for free.

Or you can follow a sequence of circus-like steps and have the code blinked out to you via the CEL.

Check on E bay,,I got one a few months ago from an outfit in Florida for 20 bucks including shipping,,,it works fine, and resets the code to boot if you want.

or you could take it to a person/shop that knows how to interpret the scan tool data and diagnose the problem so the check engine light will not come on anymore.

Yup - doesn't work on 00s and 01s... but works on 02s and 03s... its a funky procedure though, press accelerator to WOT, turn key, yada yada yada (or something similar)... not as simple as the 4th Gen ECU screw.
