suggestions on a brand?

For car use only I'd look at the audiovox XR9 (another version of it is being sold at Walmart as the Jensen). The Delphi Roady2 is cheap right now at $49 and is an excellent unit -- but if you don't mind spending a little bit more I think the audiovox is nicer (but a little bigger).

If you want car/home/portable use, the MyFi or Pioneer or Tao units are all functionally identical. You'll probably find slightly better pricing on the MyFi.

The MyFi comes with everything you need to move it from car to home as well as using it as a portable (but I would order the $25 antenna/headphone option from XM which will greatly enhance portable reception).

Buy American brand, eg Kenwoo, save our and YOUR children's jobs

Except, of course, that Kenwood is a Japanese brand with an American name. I do not know of any consumer electronics still made in this country.
