Whoa is Me - 95Max

I wrote earlier about a dead motor and received several interesting suggestions. It turned out to be a short in the wiring harness. Fixed. Now, when I try to start the car in the morning it fights me all the way. Uh-UH-Uh poop. Gas. Uh-Uh-Uh. Pop. Fart. Gas. Starts finally. Rest of the day she starts fine. I remember with an old Buick I used to own that this characterized a stuck automatic choke. Does that fit your knowlege and my description of events? Or, is there another possibility. She's only got 95 K km. on her, tuned up one year ago with new plugs, wires etc.

OK, this aint no Buick, bud.

New wires? No. The 95 Max has a nearly state of the art direct ignition system. You *never* replace the wires.

Given your troublesome cold starts, I would look into cleaning your intake system. clean your throttle body. remember to use chemicals that are safe for feul injected engines. DO NOT use carb cleaner.

Also, the multi-port feul injection system on your car takes care of any choke related functions automatically. No choke adjustment necessary.

Change your feul filter, too, if you haven't already done so.

When things are working normally, the car should be able to start without you needing to press the gas at all. You just turn the key.
