'03 Grand Am Trunk Water

Mar 18, 2005 7 Replies

We just got an 03 Grand Am and every now and then the whole inside of the trunk gets soaked. The whole underside of the trunk lid is covered and dripping with condensation, and now we just noticed the spare tire well is filled with water and everything is molding. What can we do to stop this? Thanks, Aron

Should be still under warranty right?

Gotta be a leaking seal somewhere.

  1. Seam leak around tail light openings.
  2. Trunklid spoiler mounting holes leak.
  3. Rear window leak.

Good Luck

That's what's making me wonder: A few weeks ago, when I opened the trunk, every bit of the underside of the lid, *inside* the weather stripping, was dripping with condensation. Out-side of the stripping was dry. So, now I'm thinking that the condensation isn't the source of the water, but somewhere else and that's what is condensing on the lid (if that makes sense).

Thanks for replying, I'll get to the bottom of it somehow, Aron

The best way is scary.....flashlight....you in the trunk....friend with a garden hose.....make your friend give you his wallet to hold. BTDT, GW

Now that's funny. Or, I could put a case of beer in the trunk, with a stick holding the lid up, and wait for my friend to take the bait...

Since the invention of the fold down rear seat it is ipossible to be locked in the trunk anymore.
