93 Bonneville with bad wipers

Dec 27, 2003 2 Replies

AAP,

I purchased a 93 Bonnie with a few problems, one of which is that the wipers don't always wipe. This is a real pain, because sometimes the wipers pause while I am driving in the rain, leaving me without a view! I can get them to work if I use the turn signal, the washer fluid, or jiggle the knob.

Is this an easy fix? What do I need to do here??

Dave

Might be a broken wire leading into the turnsignal / wiper stalk. Look through the hole on the side of the left side of the steering column. There is a square shaped plastic side cap that snaps off from around the turnsignal lever ( at least it does on 91's ).

Sometimes these micro thin wires rub on the opening of the cap and wear through.

Good luck.
