What is GM's recommendation for replacing Head gaskets? are you suppose to use some kind of coating or not?

install clean and dry. cleaning the surfaces is very important. final step i wipe down with laquer thinner to remove all oil. its also important to be sure the head is flat.if not,youll blow that new gasket.
