93 Grand Prix (OVERHEATING)

I just flushed the radiator,changed the sensors, pulled out the heater core and flushed that, pulled out the evaporator core and cleaned it, on the drivers side of the motor there is a part that screws into the motor under the t-stat that had a blockage in it and I cleaned it out, changed the t-stat approx 1 year ago. When I filled the system up with fluid and started the vehicle the air inside the car stays cold and the temp stayed at 105 then went straight to the red and the overheating light kicked on right before it went to the red. The hose coming out of the t-stat was hot but still soft and the hoses on the passenger side was luke warm. The rad fluid was boiling and filled up the resevoir to the top.



I am at a loss now on how to fix the problem. PLEASE HELP.

Sounds like you have a giant air pocket. Shut it off, let it cool, and try again. Maybe do this up to two or three times, but if it goes into the red or starts to boil, shut it off and let it cool.

If this doesn't work, I'd replace the thermostat. It sure seems like something is preventing coolant flow.

When I refill the rad with the fluid should I uses the two bleeders to help get the air out or does that put more air into the system?

Definitely open the bleeders and then close them when coolant begins running out in a steady stream. There may be smaller air pockets in the system, so don't be afraid to open them again after a few minutes to check and make sure everything is still going ok. They won't let any significant amount of air into the system.
