94 GA Rear Brake Adjustment

Why is there no slot in the backing plate or punch out in the drum to adjust the rear brakes on my 1994 Grand Am? Is there a trick to this? Or a special tool?

Ideas anyone...

No trick, you remove the drum to adjust the brakes.

Or you might need to remove the wheel bearing to get the hub out.
