99 grand Am Turn Off check engine light

I have a 99 grand am LE. I bought it used. Is there a way to turn off the check engine light so i could get my smog certificate. It passed however since the check engine light is on cant get the certificate. I know whats wrong with it but cuz i had to re wire it to get the fans working to prevent blown headgaskets and cool the engine. Now the computer dosnt recognise the wiring i did.



Dont have the service manual so somebody please help. Is there a way to do it without the scanner.

Your spelling aside, I have no idea why you would wire the car to have the fans on all the time. As for the check engine light, that light is on because the computer found a problem. You can get scan tool and erase the code, but if the problem is still there the light will come back on. I would suggest you fix the problem.

'Course, you could reach behind the light and either remove the bulb or cut its wire. Then you wouldn't be bothered by it, even if the next step is an exploding engine...
