Changing spark plugs on a transverse mounted engine

What's your get on getting to the spark plug behind the engine? We all know they are tough to get to but are there any recommendations or methods at getting to them.

On past GM cars I dropped the upper moter mounts (dogbones) and rocked the engine forward to buy an inch or two of space back there. Just didn't like doing that then and never thought the car drove the same way again. Dogbones wore prematurely again and again till I parked it.

Suggesions on getting at those buggers back there?

TIA
