I have a 2000 grad am 4 cyl and the fuel pump isn't comming on. For the last week I had to tap on the fuel tank with a hammer untill I hear the pump come on and now it won't come on at all. The pump was replaced over 3 months ago.
Several people have told me that it could be the factory theft device thats disabling the pump.
Anyone have any ideals?
Take it back to where you had it replaced and see if it's under warranty.
If it's pretty easy to get to hit it direct with a hot wire and see if it comes on immediately. If it does then your looking at other issues.
Sounds like a typical crappy replacement part....it failed. You say pounding on it was working and now it doesn't.....you answered your own question. GW
