How do you clear the stored engine codes ?

Depends on the year. OBDII vehicles need to be cleared with a scan tool. Other then the fact that history codes might be confusing to a tech who hadn't worked on that vehicle (say if a new problem crops up).....it's not really a big deal if the history codes stay in there. Eventually, they will disappear after so many drive cycles.
