New Struts & Mounts on 99 GAm

I had new struts & mounts replaced a week ago and when I picked up the car I had a popping sound, (spring sound) when I turned the wheel in the front for about a week. Today the sound was gone. Is it not uncommon for springs to reseat themselves?

Don't know if I'm in the clear yet.

It only did when I left in the morning for work and after work or if the car has been sitting for awhile.

Could be springs, but probably not. More probable is bad strut bearings.

Someone also said it could be bad tie rod ends.

The strut bearings were checked and said to be good.

I called around and they said I will feel that for at least the first

500 miles.

It could be just a defective mount.

Any input will help.

Thanks, alt.autos.pontiac folks

Could be just about anything. If the noise is new after the repairs, I'd take it back to have it rechecked. Unfortunately, these are not the best cars when it comes to knocking/popping/squeaking noises.

It could be any number of things. It is not normal. Have it checked out. See if they put the spring insulator pads back in. Don't fall for that 500 mile BS.
