That clears it up a little. Still names role off the tongue better most of the time.
XLR Extra Luxury Roadster? :) I think I found the meaning to SRX at this link
formatting link
"Dubbed SRX, the first initial in the name stands for the series, the Rin the middle signifies a re-configurable nature of the wagon and the Xat the end denotes the car-based platform of a crossover vehicle" Yeah doesnt make much since to me. "X car-base platform"? I thought they were a Y platform... Oh well.
When someone ask me what SSE stands for on a Bonneville I tell them "Super Snappy Edition". :D
You could be onto something there with the XLR.
The SRX, figuring it out is much more like a deciphering game then anything else. I'm fine with letters and numbers if they're pretty easy to figure out, but not if it takes a paragraph to figure out what the car is or does.
lol at the SSE. I've never actually thought about trying to figure out what the trim levels stand for. LS, LT, LTZ, GXP, SLE, SE, SSE, SSEi, STS, SLT, DTS, DHS and however many more GM has or had.
