I have a Pontiac Grand am 98 se. When on a stop sign or red light the car turns off completly. I turn it back on and then it starts back on. whats the problem?

Check and clean the usual: IAC, EGR, MAF, throttle body, etc.

Can you please explain yourself. What does this stand for IAC, EGR, MAF throutle body?
IAC - idle air control motor EGR - exhaust gas recirculation valve and solenoids MAF - manifold air flow sensor throttle body - throttle body Add: MAT - manifold air temp MAP - pressure
I have herd of the TCC locking up causing this problem.
