Sorry Harry Face. It's been a long, long time ago now (months ago), but a long time ago you asked me how many cold cranking amps my car battery had because I was talking about how my 1988 Pontiac 6000 (2.5L) would not start well during the cold temperatures. The battery has a March 2004 sticker on it, and it has 690 cold cranking amps. The regular cranking amps are in the
800's. Is that good or not? If that's good, then the next thing I will have to point at is my oil viscosity. I'm using 10W-40, which I would bet doesn't help any during the Winter time. The oil's getting pretty black, so it's time for a change, and do you think I should put 5W-30 in it? We've always used 10W-40 oil in it, and it has never done well starting in the cold temperatures, so I bet that's more of the problem than the battery. What do you think? Thanks.- posted
