97 grand prix wiper prob. wiper came off the drive due to snow. I reassembled it and posistioned the arms the park position ( after running to see the drive was in park ) They wipe fine ,unless I use the intermittant ,then they park in front of my face then wipe and park in front of my face , shut them off and they park normal .Had a dealer recall and I told them of the prob. as well as they quit working at times untill they are shut off and turned on again . When I picked up the car they said they could't find anything wrong ! They also did the steering gear pinion recall . Can anyone help me with the wiper problem uless I get killed first due to steering failure , if thats how they repair things!

Man .. Mind did the same thing. On my 94 GP.. But mine just started it. According to the recall, they replaced the power assembly at the steering column. What I did was I replaced the intermittant delay motor (that didn't help) and I replaced the control arm on the steering column (that didn't help). During the arm installation, I noticed the wires connected to the wiper switch at the steering column had zip ties on it (nice fix GM). I pressed the plug together and pressed on the zip ties (it clicked once) and the pushed the connector back into the wiper switch. The damn thing has worked fine ever since. And I lived with the wipers cutting out for almost a year. Which model cars had the pinion recall?
