I am a new Porsche owner recently purchasing a 1983 944. However I live in an area where Porsche specialists are impossible to find. I have a leak in my Porsche and I was curious if anyone could tell me what it could be. I believe it is a gasket leak that needs to be replace, but I am having trouble getting a parts estimate to see how much parts alone would be to determine if it was worth putting the money into.
The symptoms are as follows.
- Can start and run in park, and in fact runs well. The leak starts a little after it has been running.
- The leak is obviously coolant.
- When the car is shut off the leak continues for a short period, then slows to a drip.
There is a picture with the area that is leaking high-lighted. the surge of the leak comes from two bolts.
