I looked at a 924. It was OK, body had a little rust and there was damage to the drivers side fender (dent above the wheel, paint was off and body underneath showed either primer or light rust.
When I drove the car: (1) Significant gear noise, shifted fine and had good exceleration.. (2) Upon parking and leaving the engine running, a different whining sound for a short time. Seller indicated that was a drive train noise. (3) Engine and underbody showed no rust or leaks. (4) Seats torn (have seat covers), dash top significantly cracked, non standard shift knob, missing rear carpeting in trunk area and all wheels are missing center caps.
I'd be buying this for a daily driver and project car. The asking price is $1,800.
I'm concerned about the gear noise. Can anyone give me advice?
