I'm driving my first Subaru -- a 2003 Forester 2.5X. It has 32K+ miles on it. So far, no problems. I have yet to add oil or coolant between service intervals. I'm expecting to get 10 years (or more) out of the Forester.

Different vehicle and engine, but my '95 Outback is 10 years old and has accumulated 173,000 miles. No real problems other than an oil leak, which really isn't unexpected considering the age/miles. Got a bit of body rust on the driver's side rear wheel well, but other than that the body is in good shape. Interior has a bit of wear, but again nothing excessive considering the age. Before the rust showed up last year, nobody could believe that the car was (then) 9 years old.
I'd buy another in a heartbeat, and plan to do so around 200-225k miles.
