No shit, the fat ass women just throw their door open without any regard to the car next to them. I've actually witnessed it too many times and i've always felt like giving them a piece of my mind. Sometimes I think people like Jon Redneck in the 85 Chev do it on purpose...envy, teach you a lesson...who knows...f*ck them.

Then there was the time that I parked my then cherry 73 914 in a mall parking lot, near the main entrance, with the top off while I ran inside for a minute. I returned a few minutes later to find that all of the lighted switches/knobs/controls were missing. Mad as hell, I drove to the stop light at the entrance, slammed on my brakes to stop and all of the knobs came rolling out from under the front seats. After a huge sigh of relief, I vowed to never leave any of my P-cars parked anywhere, anytime with the tops off. I guess that we all live and learn. ;)

I occasionally drive my "rolling restoration" 1960 MGA. It's a tiny thing with thin aluminum doors, so I'm always careful where it is parked.

I was in a grocery-store parking lot talking with an older lady who used to race these things in her youth when a monster-cab pickup pulls in and door dings my freakin' windshield!

The guy's door actually hit the chromed pin on the top of the aluminum windshield frame!

I took some satisfaction that my little chrome pin dinged and scraped paint from his door with no damage to my MG!

If Mr. Monstertruck was 12" closer to the ground, I'd need to repair/replace a 45+ year old door skin. Not cool.

I honestly think that most people just don't care. They have no respect for others and don't appreciate the value of property - theirs or yours.

Hell, we fired the housemaids because they kept placing their purses with metal fittings on our Stickley furniture - "antique-ing" it in the process.

p.s. - This is why I avoid Wal-Mart at all costs - I don't want to be infected by the chronic mediocrity and malaise oozing from the store's patrons.

p.p.s. - I can hardly go somewhere without women asking about my car. Do vintage Porsche's get this kind of attention? If so, I'm definitely looking into that 550 Spyder!

I don't think it has to be a vintage Porsche. Just any Porsche has that affect.

Touche.

I have been around a guy who owned a 944 and a 911 (with whale tale). My experience is that newer Porsche's attract gold-diggers and other guys - neither of which were the goal of the owner!

I am simply amazed with how women react to this MG. I had a lady jogger run into my garage one night to ask me "what kind of car is that?"

Buying a "chick magnet" was not my goal... but I'm telling my friends to look into classic cars if they want a cruel mistress... and a girlfriend!

p.s. - Of course, the ladies could be attracted to my workshop Dickies. Apparently, they are "hip" nowadays.

I get comments while I'm waxing or detailing my boxter. I never got this attention with my VW or my Honda! And yes, men comment on it too, but mostly women.

But be careful which car you get. I hear that women are afraid of Spyders. (Sorry)
