Energy conserving oil

I'm Googling around for API SJ energy conserving oil and fining nothing. Not at NAPA, Checker or Autozone.

Who sells it?

SJ is hard to find because it is an outdated standard. Your owner's manual probably says something like "use SJ or higher."

The way the oil standards work, the higher in the alphabet the second letter is, the more current the standard is. The standards are set so they supersede previous standards.

I believe that the current standard is SM, so SM supersedes and replaces SL, which replaces SJ.

Bottom line, look for and use SM. If SN or SP comes out in the future, use that.

You're welcome! The method for lettering the standards is not explained in owner's manuals, something that IMO should be included.
