It is possible that the code is still present because the issue has not been fully resolved. The coolant control valve and water pump are both related to the cooling system of the vehicle, but they are separate components. It is possible that there is another issue with the cooling system that is causing the code to persist. It is recommended that you have the vehicle scanned for diagnostic trouble codes again to see if any other codes are present, and to have a qualified mechanic inspect the vehicle to determine the root cause of the problem.

Replacing the coolant control valve on a 2005 Toyota Prius can be done by someone with moderate mechanical skill and the proper tools. However, it is important to note that this is not a simple task and it involves working with the coolant system which can be dangerous.

The first step would be to locate the coolant control valve, which is typically located near the thermostat housing or the engine block. Once you have located it, you will need to disconnect the electrical connector, hoses and bolts that hold it in place.

Next, you will need to remove the old valve and install the new one, making sure to properly tighten bolts and hoses and reconnect the electrical connector.

It's also important to bleed the coolant system and check for any leaks after replacing the valve.

If you are not comfortable with performing this task or don't have the necessary tools and knowledge, it's recommended to take the vehicle to a professional mechanic.
