Rover warranty

Did anyone catch the BBC News 24 interview on the Rover Warranties. They were reporting that these would no longer be honoured.

There was a guy saying that their company could sell warranties but I did not catch the name of the company

You don't stand a chance with the act if the company has gone kaput. You stand a not much better chance by registering yourself with the liquidators as being owed money.

And a lot of dealers will go under because of it, I was told the average UK dealer is owed £100,000 each month for warranty work! Also it will be the supplying dealer only that is responsible for their vehicles warranty. no longer going to any Rover dealership.

Thats a Sudbury / Boxford area phone number - I only know because I used to live there and work in Boxford! If there was ever an area ripe for conspiracy deepest Suffolk has it all.

Sadly the theory is truth - I checked with my dealer, the Rover warranties are void. He told me that they were owed 160k in warranty work. They are trying to find a suitable warranty provider - although it will cost the owners.

I can see now why BMW washed their corporate hands of it ....... "Hey you four, I've got a proposition for you, got a tenner between you?"

Don't some people have extended warranties backed by insurance companies? They should be ok.
