9000CS 1994 Wont start

My 'psychic' guess is that it still has to do with the repairs of the wiring from ecu. Something has worked loose from the repair and needs to be rechecked. This is based on the probability of an initial error of work just completed. Seems other possibilities have been eliminated.

You could well be right. He was a dealer mechanic however and he is supposed to know his saabs. Rather than haul the car off to the mechanic again I have ordered a new DI cassette online from Neo Bros .I should have it on Wednesday and then we shall see . In the meantime Im grounded

The latest twist in the story is as follows .Started car first turn on Tuesday went to adnd from work.Same thing Wednesday .Drove to work this morning and this evening car wouldnt start ....called the dealer and he said "bring it in and we will have a look at it " not very reassuring . If it is a wiring problem where is the likely location ? I feel like torching the car and getting a fiesta to match my wifes. (Just joking)

success at last !!! My car was left at a lonely outpost near my place of work .Visions of vandalism and broken wing mirrors disturbed my sleep. On Friday ,the DI Cassette arrived and I replaced the unit in the lonely car park with a pliers to loosen the four screws . My pride and joy (once more) started on the first turn of the key and has done so all weekend since . I have saved myself a couple of hundred euro on the part and the same again on labour--- all thanks to the collective knowledge of the contributors to this newsgroup, take a bow ladies and gents. The old cassette packed in after c20k miles but I did have the incorrect plugs in for three months.I wont make that mistake again .. The DI cassette has a warning on its under side "use only resistor sparkplugs" so make sure to use the NGK type as recommended in the manual

Well done. Apparently the DI also fooled the garage? I thought all that had been checked. I had intermittent starting problems over about two weeks until the car finally stopped dead. The AA correctly diagnosed the DI which I found hard to believe at the time.

Strangely enough, the Haynes manual lists Champion plugs, but someone here suggested that they had a deal with Haynes...

Two months ago the dealer said that the DI Cassette was ok and they blamed a wiring break from a relay to the ECU ??? At least thats what they charged me for !! This time I deciderd not to go to the garage until I replaced the DI Cassette .THat decision has paid off.

Any ways now that this problem is solved I have to see about replacing the washer bottle before the MOT in a couple of months. I have a Haynes so I will start by reading up in that .. Any tips or pointers welcome.
