I live in the south in a mountainous area. It's often wet but, apart from a bit of stop-start city driving, I mainly use an Interstate that has only moderate curves and grades. I'd like a comfortable tire, too.
No it is not just insulting. Part of your question was about ratings. That was answered. You did not return to the thread at all. If you had, and thanked people regarding the speed rating feedback you recieved, and did they have any brand preferences, it would have been more courteous, than asking a similar question again.
Also if you had stated which part of this large green ball you inhabited, you might not have only been recommended a brand, but even a local tyre chain that has a reputation for fantastic work and service.
I going to assume that by use of "Tire", and "Interstate", you are in the continental north american region, or at least originate from that part. There is life beyond it's borders. Superior cars are made in that space.*
I can see there's a campaign on here you're part of, and that ways are regularly being found and invented to insist that it's justified. People should feel it's been conducted in a manner both mean-spirited and low, and meant to interfere in the purpose for which boards like this exist.
As to the matter of this thread, to recast a question so it's understood (the content is not the same, though hardly been your interest here) is hardly discourteous, and unless you have some interest I don't know of, you're out of line in here. Please don't respond further, it's neither your board nor your place to do that.
I've read that 3 times, and I still don't understand it!
Ah, but that's the beauty of unmoderated NGs - he can do whatever the hell he wants to. It simply isn't your place to ask him not to respond to your posts - that's what killfiles are for.

Whoa! Step back a minute and calm down. This is an international area where sometimes the subtleties of language can be missed.
Please read through the responses you have had and perhaps continue that thread with a note of thanks and focus the thread onto the remaining parts of your original question that you would still like to be answered. There is a wealth of information here that will be forthcoming.

Indeed, but therein lies a problem. Personalities can very quickly lead someone to discount any information that comes from that person thereafter, or disregards them more terminally with a killfile.
I remember an incident recently where a newcomer top-posted for a long time and was called all manner of names and given quite a rough time. Okay, it would appear from his complete innocence about the matter that he was trolling and seeking to "take the piss" ... But he wasn't and I think he's made a very valid contribution to a number of things.
Killfiles are a little final, don't you think? Okay, minor disagreement about a misinterpretation ... Can we all put this aside and get on with talking SAAB?
I'm sure there was a gang you joined somehow as a youth, Dave, and that being in here isn't as much fun for you as it used to be, too. Do you do blanket parties too, by the way?
Top-posting "OK, I'll keep that in mind" in response to several people explaining how it screws up context isn't him "taking the piss"?
I don't know. Last I saw he was claiming to be spending a hundred bucks a month or something to host his gigabyte of videos being distributed in a questionably legal manner.
Well, Paul, Usenet is all about Signal:Noise ratio. I'm fine with missing something from someone who has shown themselves to be hard to deal with and/or intentionally disruptive. While the chance of missing something useful is non-zero, I'm OK with those odds. I think I've only got 2 people who have posted in this group in my killfile, which is a very low number compared to some other groups.
